PTO is ready for new parents for the 2024-2025 school year! If you will be a parent of a student at Wylie Primary next year, please consider attending this meeting!

Mrs. Quintanilla led a parent workshop for her class last night! She demonstrated how simple household items can be transformed into tools for fun and educational experiences. By creating sock puppets together, parents and children can engage in storytelling, role-playing, and language development activities. Mrs. Quintanilla explained how these activities promote creativity, communication skills, and imagination, all while reinforcing concepts taught at school.

Our Pre-K students have been learning all about the life cycle of the butterfly! Today, Mrs. Jenni's class released the butterflies that started out in their classroom as caterpillars! The students can tell you about all four stages of the life cycle of the caterpillar!

Kindergartners enjoyed their field trip to Piney Park on Friday!

“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.” -Dr. Seuss
We had so much fun today!

Big Thanks to Donovan's Landscape and Garden Center for visiting our school and sharing their expertise on plants with our students! Learning about gardening introduces students to fundamental scientific concepts such as photosynthesis, the life cycle of plants, and the role of plants in ecosystems. We loved having Donovan's as a guest just in time to get ready for Spring!

Coming up next week!

Dear HISD Families,
Wylie Primary School will be conducting a required lockdown drill this Wednesday (March 6, 2024). This exercise is a part of our ongoing commitment to ensure the safety and well-being of our students and staff. Preparing for all types of emergencies is a responsibility HISD takes very seriously.
Law enforcement officials will also be supporting the exercise to provide expertise and to practice responding to the scene. People driving by may notice an increased police presence outside the buildings during this brief drill.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
HISD Administration

Last week our Kindergarteners showed off their dance moves! Square dancing teaches many skills for our students including teamwork, communication, following directions, and coordination. Thank you to the parents who joined us on the dance floor!

Coming up this Friday! This is always the best day for staff and students!
