On Friday we celebrated the 100th day of school! We are 100 days smarter, kinder, friendlier, braver, sweeter, and stronger!
On the 100th day of school, there were 100 pictures of a lion hidden all around. At the beginning of the day, we told the students if all 100 pictures were found, Ms. Leslie would get pied in the face! Well, guess what... all 100 were found!
Keep up with all news for Wylie Primary for the month of February!
Huge shoutout to our awesome PTO and parents who helped stock the workroom with snacks! 🍿🍫 You made our day! Thank you!
January’s secret staff word has been revealed! Congratulations to Tracye Witcher, Nicki Houston, Martha Hinojosa, Sharla Lankford, Lucy Thane, and Terri Patterson for “Always being Dependable”!
Thank you to everyone who came out to watch our Pre-K students in their rhyming parade! They were so excited to showcase their rhyming skills!
Today's Kindergarten Snow Day was an absolute blast! Here's a peek into the snowy fun and learning we had. From building snowmen to snowball fights, our students practiced their motor skills while having a blast in the winter wonderland!
Rain, rain, go away! After a week of gloomy weather, the sun is finally shining at school! Mrs. Jenni's class found a dry sidewalk so they could get some fresh air and enjoy the sunshine!
Our electricity may have gone out, but the learning never stopped! Who knew a little darkness could shed light on new ways to learn and connect?
Power has been restored! Both Wylie campuses are returning to their normal schedules. Have a great day! - HISD Admin
There is currently a wide-spread power outage affecting the Wylie HISD campuses. We have contacted the power company and are waiting for an estimated time for the power to be restored. All students are safe at this time. Please do not pick up students from the campuses. As soon as we know more about the situation, we will contact all parents with plans moving forward. HISD Admin
A heads up for this coming Friday!
Each month, our counselors focus on teaching valuable life lessons and highlighting various character traits. Congratulations to these students who have demonstrated exceptional courage!
Mrs. Jones had a special guest reader, Mrs. Decker, who brought the magic of winter into the classroom! She read the book "Mice Skating" by Annie Silvestro, and it was the perfect story to get us in the winter spirit! ❄️
Mrs. Decker also surprised each student with a beautiful snowflake, and she even taught each student how to make their very own!
Thank you to Mrs. Decker for bringing joy, creativity, and a touch of winter magic to the day!
HISD will return to normal schedules tomorrow! All campuses and busses will run at regular times. As we return to school, please be aware that some areas on campus may still be slick. Maintenance crews have been working all day to clear off any remaining ice but there may be areas, especially in shaded or covered areas, that could refreeze overnight. This could include steps, ramps, covered walkways, playgrounds, etc. Please be safe and stay warm and we will see you tomorrow!
HISD will be closed tomorrow, Wednesday, Jan 17. Although the roads in Henderson are looking much better today (thanks to the sun!), overnight temperatures will refreeze wet areas causing problems especially on rural roads in the county. Please stay safe and warm! - HISD Admin
All HISD campuses will be closed Tuesday due to weather conditions. Please stay safe and warm! - HISD Admin
